Who Are Yosef & Nasra?

Yosef and Nasra are founders of the Somali American Gospel Network (SAGN), a ministry devoted to sharing the Gospel and bringing hope to Somali and Muslim communities around the world.

Nasra was born in Somalia into a loving Muslim family. After the civil war her father was killed for tribe reasons. She became a refugee searching for safety and hope. In March 1994, she came to America carrying deep pain, yet God began a journey of healing and restoration in her life. Nasra has a heart of reconciliation between the tribal divisions because Jesus gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

Yosef was born in Kenya into a polygamous Muslim family and faced many hardships growing up. Despite the struggles of his childhood, he longed for truth, love, and purpose. In December 2003, he came to America as a student seeking a better future.

Yosef and Nasra met and married in December 2008. In 2017, they became American citizens, and in 2018, they surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, experiencing transformation, healing, and renewed purpose through Him. Their marriage was restored under God’s covenant as a testimony of Christ-centered love and faithfulness.

In 2025, they were licensed through the International Ministerial Fellowship (IMF) and launched SAGN to boldly share their testimony and the hope of Jesus with Muslims and seekers across the nations.

The Somali American Gospel Network (SAGN) exists to share the love, hope, and truth of Jesus Christ among Somali communities in America and beyond.SAGN is committed to making disciples, leading the brokenhearted to Jesus, and building bridges between the Church and Muslim communities through compassion, prayer, fellowship, and Bible studies. And teach also on how, as an ex-Muslim, to help churches understand the importance of being aware of how to reach their Muslim neighbors.

Rooted in the vision of The Gospel of Matthew 28:19–20, SAGN seeks to fulfill the Great Commission by raising up disciples, equipping believers, and nurturing Christ-centered families and communities. Guided by the mission of The Gospel of Matthew 10:8 and The Gospel of Luke 4:18, the ministry serves through prayer, evangelism, Bible studies, house church gatherings, youth outreach, and media ministry, including online prayer and teaching platforms.

SAGN focuses on strengthening families, reaching Somali youth affected by addiction and incarceration, reconciling marriages, supporting new believers, and connecting people to healthy local congregations. The ministry also works to equip the Church with greater understanding and compassion toward Somali and Muslim communities, fostering relationships that lead to salvation and transformation through Christ.

Mohamed Yusef and Nasra are licensed through the International Ministerial Fellowship. Supporters can partner through prayer, volunteering to co-labor with us, and financial giving to help expand the kingdom of God in Minnesota and beyond.
